The global PET recycling market is set to be worth 12.5 billion dollars in 2026

The latest report* published by the market research firm Acumen Research and Consulting reveals that the world recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) market is set to reach $12.5 billion by 2026. And register an 8% average annual growth rate between 2018 and 2026.

The size of the global rPET market was estimated at $6.91 billion in 2018. With a PET bottle collection rate of 31% (above the global average), the American industry in particular has become a heavyweight in North America and the world.

According to the report, the key growth drivers for the rPET market over the 2018-2026 period are a heightened awareness by consumers of the need to protect the environment on the one hand, and the ban on landfill imposed by a growing number of countries in North America and Europe on the other.

By 2026, the rise of the beverage sector in the Asia-Pacific zone (Vietnam, China, South Korea, India, Japan and the Philippines) is set to boost rPET market growth, along with increased bottle-to-bottle production.
